Living on an island I am witness to full moons over Seattle, dark winter sunrises, populations of wild animals, and the full benefit of seasonal changes. These visceral experiences are the content of my art. My paintings are thick with layers of paint, each layer a history of my process as I draw, scrape, and collage into the canvas. My artistic advisers are the centuries of artists who came before me.
